Jean-Adam PFLIEGER (1744-1801) conventional (Haut-Rhin). L.A - Lot 56
Jean-Adam PFLIEGER (1744-1801) conventional (Haut-Rhin). L.A.S., Paris, January 17, 1791; 3 pages in-4. "The state of Mülhausen requests to be aggregated to the commerce of France, as well as to be treated as a good neighbor as before"; it wonders if the neighboring communities can buy land in the territory of Mülhausen and under what conditions, and asks to order the payment of the work done to the courtroom of the Tribunal de Justice. "The King expects tomorrow a letter from Rome which will bring the good news that the Pope confirms all that has been done for the civil constitution of the clergy [...] This will be able to reassure the timorous consciences and to dismay the wicked, who have sought to disturb the Kingdom by their resistance". He adds in a postscript that rumors are circulating "that several parishes will be reunited, that the useless churches and the ornaments of those suppressed will be sold"... On the last page, a draft of the administrators' reply.
