L.A.S., November 25, 1776, to the Duchess of LORGES; 1 page small in-4. His health allows him "hardly to satisfy the old commitments I have made for the pleading", and he cannot make new ones. "I will be very flattered to respond to the confidence of Madame la Duchesse de Lorges, and if I cannot defend her myself, I will make it my duty and honor to contribute otherwise to her success...
