Jean-Baptiste CARRIER (1756-guillotined 1794) conventionnel (Cantal), organizer of the Nantes massacres. P.A.S. "Le Représentant du peuple français," Nantes 29 brumaire II (November 19, 1793); ¾ pages in-fol. vignette and header Représentant du Peuple près l'Armée de l'Ouest, red wax seal. Carrier "requires the administration of the department of the lower Loire to put in requisition to leave in two days fifteen hundred pioneers to follow the army which will incessantly put itself on the march under the orders of general Haxo". A handwritten document on the letterhead of the Representative of the People near the Army of the West (the end is missing), Nantes 8 frimaire II (November 28, 1793; 2 pages in-fol.), putting the embargo "on all boats for the navigation of the Loire from Angers and Saumur to Nantes and vice versa [...] The armed boats will continue to remain stationed, or to navigate on the left bank of the Loire to oppose the re-entry of the brigands in the Vendée, who already passed this river"... Plus a printed document of La Société des Amis de la Constitution, Séante aux Capucins, à Nantes, Nantes May 2, 1791.
