Alexandre BESSON (1758-1826) conventional (Doubs) and Louis- - Lot 328
Alexandre BESSON (1758-1826) conventional (Doubs) and Louis-Antoine ROBIN (1757-1802) conventional (Aube). P.S. by both, Rambouillet October 7, 1793; 7 pages in-fol. with red wax seal. Interesting document concerning the commune of Rambouillet. In their capacity as "Commissioners of the National Convention for the execution of the Law of June 10 relative to the goods of the former civil list in Rambouillet", the Representatives of the people Besson and Robin are convinced that many members of this commune "do not have the energy which is appropriate in the circumstances to magistrates of the people, that of their little ardor would result soon in the cooling and little by little the depravation of the public spirit in this commune where the fanaticism of the royalty appears to have many secret partisans"... Consequently, they dismiss the General Council of this commune, as well as the Committee of surveillance, to reorganize them. They name the new members, 30 names quoted here, chosen "among the citizens" whose activity, severity and devotion will thwart the deaf and perfidious schemes of the enemies of the Republic"...
