MANIFESTO OF BRUNSWICK. Printed: Declaration of His Serene Highness the Reigning Duke of Bronsvic and Lüneburg, Commander of the Combined Armies of Their Majesties the Emperor and the King of Prussia, H.Q. of Coblenz July 25, 1792; small in-4 of 8 pages. Rare and famous proclamation, ultimatum threatening Paris with reprisals in case of violence or outrages to Louis XVI and the royal family. Written by an émigré, the Marquis de Limon, it was received as a provocation and set the world on fire. This document was addressed to the deputy of Dauphiné Jean-Joseph Mounier, as indicated by this note in margin: "A dauphinois Noble in spite of Mounier, addresses to this rascal the opinion of Mgre the duke of Brunzwick on his last work, it is with this opinion that SAS will make return the factious even subaltern such as Mounier, in their duty". Enclosed the Letter of the King to the National Assembly, On the occasion of the publicity of the Declaration of the Duke of Brunswick, August 3, 1792 (Imprimerie royale, 1792; 3 p. in-4).
