Jeanne Bécu, countess DU BARRY (1743-1793) mistress of Louis XV. P.S. with autograph apostille (apostille and signature crossed out), Louveciennes January 22, 1787; 1 oblong page in-8. Promissory bill: "On the first of May I will pay to Mr. Pême the sum of one thousand livres, to account for his memoir, save the settlement that will be made"... The countess Du Barry added: "approved the above writing - good for 1000ll". The bill was endorsed by the beneficiary Pesme in favor of Mme La Rivière on January 30, 1787, and paid by her; Mme du Barry's signature was then crossed out.
