Guillaume BRUNE (1763-1815) marshal of France. P.S. signed twice, 13 and 14 Vendémiaire IV (October 5 and 6, 1795); 2 pages in-4, red wax seal. Royalist insurrection of the 13 vendémiaire. Order to the citizen François-Mathieu Michau, "to do the service of deputy [...] at the battery of Carrouzel". The next day, he is delivered a certificate saying that he fought "with zeal, bravery and intelligence" at the Carrousel on the 13 and 14 vendémiaire, and had his weapon broken while fighting the rebels. Attached is a blank printout, year VIII (1 p in-fol., vignette and header Armée de l'Ouest, Brune, conseiller d'État, général en chef , for a backup.
