Emile GALLE (1846-1904) Tea table, c. 1897, in molded walnut and inlaid wood of different species with two poly-lobed tops and corner legs entirely carved with leaves and stems. Upper tray decorated with butterflies on a background of carnations, vases and leaves of chestnut trees, lower tray decorated with leaves of chestnut trees. Signed in the marquetry of the upper tray. H.: 88 cm - W.: 91 cm - D.: 67 cm History: A similar model is preserved in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris (inv. OAO 874), from the former collection of Miss Andrée Vyncke.
