Buddhist altar in carved wood lacquered in black and gold, opening in the lower part with two drawers decorated with flowering branches and presenting above three niches separated by columns decorated with plants. In the central niche hangs an auspicious element. It is surmounted by an openwork pediment decorated with birds, Fo dogs among lotus flowers and foliage. 19th century. Small accidents. Provenance: by descent from the deputy director of Indochina customs, part of the close circle of the king of Cambodia Norodom Suramarit who decorated it with the order of the 100,000 elephants. Brought back from Indochina to France in 1945.
