Amsterdam, And is in Paris, Delalain, Lacombe, November 1769. In-8, paperback, untrimmed and largely uncut, marbled paper cover, handwritten title label on spine (Binding of the time). This text had first appeared a few months earlier in the Éphémérides du citoyen, which explains the mention of a second edition on the title page. Dupont de Nemours (1739-1817) pleads for the abolition of the Compagnie des Indes, whose privilege is a violation of the public property of all citizens, and demands the opening of the colonies to the trade of the whole world. His work contributed to precipitate the fall of the Compagnie des Indes. Copy as issued, bound in paperback and partly uncut. Minor stains on the title.
