CHAMPAGNAT CHAMPAGNAT Brooch-clip "Owl resting on a branch" in 18K (750) yellow gold openwork, twisted, chased and platinum. The belly is composed of an oval citrine and the eyes of round rubies in a setting of rose-cut diamonds. Circa 1960. Master stamp of Jean-Claude Champagnat. Eagle head and dog head hallmarks. Height: 4 cm. - Gross weight: 14.84 g. Jean-Claude Champagnat (1923-1980) is a singular artist jeweller. In the years 1960-1970, he is considered as one of the pioneers of modern jewelry. With Jean Vendome, with whom he was friends, he was supported by the De Beers company, which wanted to develop contemporary jewellery and create a counterweight to the great houses of Place Vendôme. Champagnat uses raw gems and essentially creates unique pieces, jewellery sculptures with abstract forms. In 1961, he took part in the London exhibition dedicated to contemporary jewellery alongside Viviana Torun, Henri Gargat, Gilbert Albert, Andrew Grima and Jean Vendome, renowned jewellery artists whose jewels are kept in the world's gr
