PORCELAIN COFFEE CUP. Round, upwardly flared model with saucer, with polychrome decoration of the coat of arms of the Royal House of Greece under a royal crown and bordered by a blue and gold border and a frieze with a stylised gold motif. Good condition. English work, Phillips Manufactory, London, late 19th century. H. : 7 cm - Diameters : 7 and 14 cm. History: this coat of arms created for King George I of Greece became the national emblem of Greece and the royal family until the abolition of the monarchy in 1973. It represents, two Heraclides holding a shield with the Greek flag and decorated in the center of the king's coat of arms. A blue ribbon underneath bears the inscription: "The love of the people is my power".
