REDOUTÉ Pierre-Joseph (Attributed to) Saint-Hubert, 1759- Paris, 1840 Study of lilies of the valley and leaves Graphite and watercolour on vellum (accident in the left margin; small fold). Seven graphite elements, numbered, in the lower part. Annotated lower left: painted by P. J. Dreaded Height: 47,8 cm - Width: 34,5 cm On the practice of P. J. Redouté to take up in the lower part of his studies small details of his plants one can refer to his watercolours of Pelargonium or Crassula orbicularis (Cf. Catalogue de l'exposition du Musée de la Vie romantique, Le Pouvoir des fleurs, Pierre - Joseph Redouté, pp. 36 & 37, 60, & 65 - Paris 2017).
