Charles-Guillaume DIEHL (1811-1885, attributed to) Veneer and marquetry work table of amaranth, birch, ebony, maple and holly with polylobate box and belt entirely inlaid with a decoration of dragonflies on a background of foliage. The top of the dish has a scrolled top forming a flap decorated with pansy marquetry and revealing a rough interior (the upholstery is missing). Tubular tripod leg in a tubular alisier with patinated bronze locusts decoration in the upper part and small turtles in the lower part (one turtle is missing) on a triangular spacer with pansies marquetry and small flattened spherical pads (restorations). Annotated plaque Muraire Toulon on the back of the flap. Height 74 cm - plate 39 x 33 cm Exhibition: a model of this table was presented at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878.
