Samarkand (CENTRAL ASIA), late 19th century. Technical characteristics: wool velvet on wool foundation. Some oxidation and natural wear and tear. Collector's item. A brick field covered with circular floral medallions, with star and cruciform ornaments, supports a central medallion, mauve, with an imposing hooked corolla, apple green. The decoration is enriched with bats, symbol of happiness, also present in the celadon spandrels. A eastern border with polychrome swastikas, symbol of eternity, and the other is decorated with capitals, supporting the celestial fire, in polychrome.
