Black lacquered carved wooden Buddhist altar enhanced with gold, opening in the lower part by two drawers decorated with flowering branches and presenting three niches above separated by small columns decorated with plants. In the central niche hangs an auspiciously decorated element. It is surmounted by an openwork pediment decorated with birds, hounds of Fo among lotus flowers and foliage. 19th century. Small accidents. Provenance: by descent from the under-director of customs of Indochina, part of the close circle of the king of Cambodia Norodom Suramarit who decorated it with the order of 100,000 elephants. Brought back from Indochina to France in 1945.
