RIGHTS OF MAN. Collection of 26 printed pieces :Projet de déclaration des Droits de l'Homme en société, etc., Paris et Versailles 1789-1790; more than 450 pages bound in one volume in-8, blue paper boards (slight wetness). Collection of various proposals for the establishment of the Declaration of the Rights of Man. Some are anonymous, others emanate from committees, deputies or members of the National Assembly: Sallé de Chou, deputy of Berry, M. Gouges-Cartou, deputy of the six Sénéchaussées of Quercy, Thouret, deputy of Rouen, Court de Gebelin (posthumous work Devoirs du Prince et du Citoyen to serve as a continuation of the Declaration of the Rights of Man), Target, l'abbé Siéyès, Mounier, Terme, deputy of Agen, etc. One notes some handwritten corrections. One also finds an Address to the National Assembly to the effect of obtaining the formation of a committee in its bosom to apply... the great principles of Justice decreed in the Declaration of the Rights of Man, and a Declaration of the Rights translated from English.
