HERVIEU Jacques - (1933-2010), Drawing Ancient head, probably Marcus Aurelius Academic drawing in black and white pencil on laid paper with an Ingres monogram watermark Inscribed “Jacques Hervieu 4ème B” in the upper right corner Sun damage, foxing, creases Dimensions: 31.5 x 23.5 cm Jacques Hervieu was a writer from Normandy, originally from Périers in the Manche department. He was actively involved in local life and went on to become a judge and later president of the Commercial Court of Coutances. Self-taught and passionate about the history of his region, he left behind several writings and accounts related to Normandy and World War II. His book *“It Was During the Exodus: Normandy, Summer 1944,”* published posthumously in 2024, recounts the exodus his family experienced during the Allied landings.
