HERVIEU Jacques - (1933-2010), Drawing Emperor Augustus, study based on the ancient bust housed at the Glyptothek in Munich Academic drawing in black-and-white pencil on laid paper with a Mourlot watermark Inscribed “Jacques Hervieu 3ème bleue” in the upper right corner Sun damage, foxing, creases Dimensions: 31.5 x 24 cm Jacques Hervieu was a Norman author originally from Périers, in the Manche department. He was actively involved in local life and went on to become a judge and later president of the Commercial Court of Coutances. Self-taught and passionate about the history of his region, he left behind several writings and accounts related to Normandy and World War II. His book *“It Was During the Exodus: Normandy, Summer 1944,”* published posthumously in 2024, recounts the exodus his family experienced during the Allied landings.
