Paris and Algiers, 1840 and n.d. 4 pp. in-4 and 5 pp. in-8. Addresses on versos of second leaves with postmarks.
Amusing and dense love letters from Bory de Saint-Vincent, tender and playful, addressed to Flora Tristan, his "Très belle voyageuse & philosophe aux cheveux de saie et aux yeux de gazele", his "Très belle paria", etc. "I came down from my attic with the thought of courting you and learning from your seductive conversation [...]". In particular, he discusses Spanish painting: Ribera, Murillo, his correspondent's works (asylum rooms, Bonaparte, etc.), socialism, the absurdity of marriage, and so on.
