Strong light cavalry officer's saber, An XI model. Brass mounting, hunter-style guard with two guard arms connecting the jointing bow. Line-decorated branches, almond-shaped cruciform (one lacks the tip). Cut quillon. Long-tailed oval cap, wooden spindle covered with watermarked leather. English grip blade (remains of "GUNBY" marking on heel), strongly curved, with hollow sides and carp tongue counter-edge. Steel scabbard with two wide brass straps (bowl missing). Total length: 95 cm. France, 1st Empire period. Complete with two leather lines and brass fasteners.
