Model 1855 infantry officer's saber. Bronze mounting, chased crown cap, fillet joint arch, flower-decorated openwork top, drop-shaped quillon. Horn spindle, watermark missing. Slightly curved blade with groove and gutter marked "Manufacture d'armes de Châtellerault". Iron scabbard with two straps and suspension ring. Oxidation, as is. Total length: 92 cm. France, Third Republic period.
