Édouard Léon CHAPELLE (Édouard Eugène Victor CHAPELLE dit, 1887 - 1968) "Rose et papillon" (Rose and butterfly). Box in hammered metal and patinated wrought iron with square body and patinated high-relief motifs. Signed on the lid. Height: 11 cm - Sides: 19.5 x 19.5 cm History: Edouard Léon Chapelle was an ironworker from Nancy whose work is distinguished by the production of animal sculptures incorporating blown glass, created between 1925 and 1935. He notably collaborated with Lorraine glassmakers such as the Muller brothers and André Delatte. Provenance: former Édouard Léon Chapelle collection; now in the family.
