Édouard Léon CHAPELLE (Édouard Eugène Victor CHAPELLE dit, 1887 - 1968) "Reclining Lion". Bronze proof with shaded golden patina on quadrangular base. Period sand casting (small mane missing, oxidation, small scratches and dents). Height: 19 cm - Base: 31.5 cm x 14.5 cm History: Edouard Léon Chapelle was an ironworker from Nancy whose work is distinguished by the production of animal sculptures in blown glass, created between 1925 and 1935. He notably collaborated with Lorraine glassmakers such as the Muller brothers and André Delatte. Provenance: former Édouard Léon Chapelle collection; since left in the family
