Bénouville lower left, on verso the stamp of the Paul and Florence Vercier collection (L.3607), no. 251 and incomplete study of a draped woman in black pencil, 29.5x22.58 cm. PROVENANCE: Galerie Prouté, 26/10/1968, catalog no. 48, item no. 25. HISTORY: Study for the figure of the deputy in the Roman Senate in the painting Cincinnatus Receiving the Deputies in the Senate, painted in 1844 and now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, St. Lô.
