Set of two large photographic albums (travels, Europe, France, Belgium and Italy). Circa 1880-1912.
- A first album on the themes of Italy and France. Circa 1880's. A large photographic album (approx. 54.5 x 34.5 x 4 cm) featuring some 55 albumen prints mounted on cardboard. Some prints are captioned on mounts. Examples of subjects: the old town of Hyères, Nice - Promenade des Anglais, panorama of Cannes, Genoa, Villa Pallavicini, various views of Turin, Milan, Venice, Bologna, reproductions of works of art, etc.
Average visual formats approx. 20 x 12 cm to 34.5 x 27 cm.
Visuals with traces of foxing. Some pages detached. Cover damaged; album missing, foxing.
Attached is a vintage silver print laminated to cardboard, depicting an airship, visual format approx. 22.5 x 16.5 cm, mount format approx. 27 x 21 cm. Traces, stains.
- A second large album (format approx. 43 x 33 x 5 cm) titled on the front cover "Notre Voyage 1912" consisting of nearly 26 albumin prints laminated on cardboard with captions. Sample subjects: Lille, Ypres, Ostend, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Mechelen, Brussels, etc. Average visual size approx. 27 x 20 cm. Freckles, traces, stains.
