OSTERTAG - Lot 239
OSTERTAG Silver (800 thousandths) and brass clock, decorated with cloisonné enamel scenes, the front part of the clock with black cloisonné enamel outline, punctuated with green and blue decorations, in the upper part a nature scene with branches, flowers, butterfly and bird, on a black background, in a red enamel frame. The lower part features a gilded dial, engraved black-enameled minute track, hour markers with engraved enameled Mandarin numerals, a gilded symbol surrounded by black enamel in the center, raised by a red-enameled outline and a blue border, blued trefoil hands, signed "OSTERTAG PARIS". Both sides and top of the clock decorated with a large rectangle in red enamel, surrounded by black enamel with blue and green cloisonné decoration. Under the clock, number 4050, hallmark of Master Jacot-Guillarmod (JG, burin dispute). Brass back, hinged top for storage, hinged bottom with access to movement. Hand-wound mechanical movement, anchor escapement. The silver base (800 thousandths) also enameled red with cloisonné decoration of blue and green waves. The watch was functional at the time of appraisal, but there is no guarantee of its future operation or of the condition of the parts. Scratches to the case, some marks to the plating and a few missing parts. Circa 1930 Dimensions: 94 mm high, 55 wide, 25 mm deep Gross weight 400.6 grams
