French Consul's Grande Tenue suit, Third Republic period, including jacket, vest, pants and belt (as is), accompanied by his leather, felt, black ostrich feather and velvet bicorne, monogrammed "PC" inside, preserved in its original box. France, circa 1870. Made by Maison Rouart, 86, rue Richelieu, Paris. Provenance Paul Cavelier de Cuverville (1838-1876), Consul of France between 1870 and 1876 in Santiago (Cuba), then Cartagena (Spain).
