Queen Anne type pistol. - Lot 54
Queen Anne type pistol. Attributed to the City of London Coastal Artillery. Flintlock system and chased brass case signed "HEYLIN CORNHILL LONDON". Forced-fire barrel with City of London proof marks. Walnut stock inlaid with silver threads (jumps), a silver thumb piece richly decorated with trophies of arms. Silver cap with lion overlooking ramparts and holding a cannon in its claws, resting on cannonballs, cannon and pennants. Chased silver trigger guard. Good mechanics, missing jaw and hammer screw. Overall length : Great Britain, last third of the 18th century.
