Jacques Coquille, dit DUGOMMIER (1736-1794) general, deputy for Guadeloupe at the Assemblée Nationale and for Martinique at the Convention, led the siege of Toulon and was killed in the Pyrenees. L.A.S. "Dugommier general en chef", Perpignan 14 pluviôse II (February 2, 1794), to Fourn; 1 page in-4 (engraved portrait enclosed). "My dear Fourn, I can only say one word to you right now. It is the heart that dictates it, and it must suffice. I have seen your signature with a pleasure I cannot express, judge of that which your presence will give me. I'm going to work accordingly.
