DAUM in Nancy Circular bowl with contoured edges in double frosted and surface vitrified glass with engraved in reserve and enamelled decoration of brown poplar branches, mounted on a silver pedestal (950 thousandths), with chased and engraved decoration of foliage, engraved in the center: "Offered by the Duc de Montpensier / Saïgon le 14 Janvier 1912". Signed "Daum Nancy #", circa 1900-1910. Minerve hallmark. Goldsmith: Antoine Eysen (active 1895-1923). H. 17 x D. 29 cm. Gross weight: 2880 g. Provenance Ferdinand d'Orléans, Duc de Montpensier, born September 9, 1884 at Château d'Eu, died January 30, 1924 at Château de Randan, great-grandson of the last French king Louis-Philippe I. Ferdinand was the youngest son of Philippe d'Orléans, Count of Paris and Orleanist pretender to the French throne under the name Philippe VII, and his wife and first cousin Marie-Isabelle d'Orléans-Montpensier (1848-1919), Infanta of Spain.
