In-folio in sheets, in a publisher's slipcase and filled cover, original edition illustrated by Pierre-Yves Trémois with 34 engravings. Limited edition of 250 copies numbered and signed by the author, artist and publisher, this one n°103, one of 200 on Arches vellum containing the definitive state. Enriched with a handsome autograph letter from the author to Baron Charles de Watteville "who will find himself at ease, by remembering the court of the regent of Castile in 1517, where human passions played their eternal game. March 15, 1960", a large original full-page drawing by Trémois featuring a portrait of Joan the Mad and an emblem depicting half a cat and half a bat, with the motto "Juana la locca - La locura es la mitad de la razon española" and accompanied by a signed autograph dispatch, as well as an autograph letter signed by the author and a page of Notes on the manuscript of the Cardinal of Spain.
