Photography, Middle East, Palestine, West Bank, Israel, Jerusalem, Lebanon, Egypt, North Africa and miscellaneous. Set of two miscellaneous photographic albums. Circa 1880-1900. The first album is titled "Palestine" on the inside page and comprises more than fifty albumen and silver prints mounted on cardboard and captioned (cover in poor condition). Subjects include: Suez Canal, Abu-Ghosh, Omar Mosque, Beirut, Messina, Ba-Albek, Zagaya, Barada Spring near Damascus, Damascus, Bedouin camps, Nazareth, children in Bethel, Bethany, the Jordan River, Bethlehem, etc. Visual formats approx. 16.5 x 11.5 cm to 28 x 22.5 cm and album format approx. 39 x 33.5 x 3.5 cm. Attached is a second album (decomposed, in very poor condition) comprising more than 90 prints, mostly albumin and silver, mounted on cardboard and mostly captioned. Subjects include: Cairo, camels on the road to Cairo, Stromboli, my companions on the Yangtze, Alexandria, Bedouins at the Pyraaamids, Chadouf, Aboutig, Denderah, Memphis village, the Nile, Muslim women, princely wedding procession, Medinet-Habou, Thebes, Luxor, Edfu, Komombo, Phileus Island, Nubians, Karnak, etc. Visual formats approx. 11 x 8 cm to 28 x 22 cm.
