First edition, illustrated with a fold-out table and a fold-out plate containing a map of Algeria and the colonization plan. Father Enfantin, one of the leaders of the Saint-Simonian movement, stayed in Algeria from 1839 to 1841 as a member of the commission in charge of research and exploration in Algeria. Signed letter from Father Enfantin on the title page (recipient's name cut out). Large browned plate with small tear at fold. Freckles at the beginning of the volume. ex 14866/321
