PATRICE FABRE - Lot 254
PATRICE FABRE Silver (800e) band ring, stylized to resemble a wire mesh, with the squares filled with concrete and accented by 3 brilliant-cut diamonds set in square settings. Signed P. Fabre and bearing the master’s hallmark. Gross weight: 9.20 g. Ring size: 56–57. This ring is part of the Gold and Concrete collection, launched by Patrice Fabre in 1986. Inspired by his interest in architecture and his family’s heritage in the construction industry, the designer chose to introduce concrete into jewelry—a material that was unprecedented in the field at the time. The idea was born during a trends seminar organized by De Beers, dedicated to new materials. Fabre envisioned a piece of jewelry constructed like a reinforced concrete wall: concrete poured around a metal framework, then combined with precious materials such as gold and diamonds.
