JAPAN, Meiji Period Hakko (picnic box) Rectangular lacquer box with hiramaki-e decoration. It has four superimposed compartments in an open box showing the lacquered treatment of the different boxes. In the upper part there are triangular shaped plates in red lacquer. Small gaps and slits.
