CHRISTIAN DIOR Haute Couture Ligne Vivante, Autumn-Winter 1953 Palomita" short grand soir dress in ivory satin with gold embroidery, the embroidery embellished with sequins and seed beads, covering the entire dress and shawl, with floral and geometric motifs. Articulated in four elements, a dress top with a cowl neckline, a skirt, a belt and a triangular shawl. Black graphic white label, a bolduc in the skirt waistband. The dimensions are consistent with the fact that this is the model from the fashion show, probably worn by Victoire Doutreleau during the show. Size: 30/32 approx. Waist circumference: 55 cm. This lot has been on loan and/or exhibited at/by Dior Héritage since 2016. Similar to the dress reproduced in the book Dior, Christian Dior 1947 - 1957, Assouline, 2016, p.296, with the difference that the one belonging to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York does not include its original shawl. Very good condition, a few minor flaws, some embroidery slightly undone, a few loose sequins and seed beads to be reattached. The dimensions are consistent with this being the runway model, likely worn by Victoire Doutreleau during the show. Size: approximately 30/32. Waist circumference: 55 cm. This lot has been loaned and/or exhibited at/by Dior Heritage since 2016. Similar to the dress reproduced in the book Dior, Christian Dior 1947 - 1957, Assouline, 2016, p.296, with the difference that the one belonging to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, does not include its original shawl.
